Functionality and distinctive features:
- Phasor and symmetrical component angle and length can be modified with a computer mouse or a keyboard using entry fields on the left;
- Radio buttons allow to set “the most popular” variants of phasor diagrams;
- The “popular” phasor diagrams are created based on the assumption that Z1=Z2=Z0;
- The “Snap” button generates random phasor diagram variants;
- The value in the “Scale” field is equal to phasor length in a three-phase symmetrical mode;
- Positive angles are laid off counterclockwise from a vertical axis;
- A dot serves as decimal mark;
- The interactive model functions properly on a PC in Opera, Chrome, Firefox and Safari browsers.
Description:
Phasor diagrams demonstrate the way a three phasor unsymmetrical system can be resolved into three symmetrical ones (Fortescue theorem), namely, a positive-sequence, a negative-sequence and a zero-sequence system. This resolution finds its application in the analysis of three phase network unbalanced conditions (method of symmetrical components). The connection between phasors is expressed by the following formulas:
